Dismaland

Last weekend we drove to a small town called West Super Mare in the UK to visit the “bemusement park” Dismaland, created by the street artist Banksy. In total 60 artists contributed art pieces to the park making it one giant exhibition in the form of a theme park. The entrance of the park is a grim looking building and upon entering it only gets worse. The people who work there are some of the most sad looking people you’ll ever meet and accompanied by the sad music tune playing through the entire park makes it a great experience. The first thing they’ll say is “Welcome to Dismaland, have a terrible time” and when I asked them for a map of the park they just kept staring me in the face, crushed the paper into a ball and threw it on the ground in front of me, awesome!

Remember those radio controlled boats in amusement parks where you pay like €1,- and get to control it for some minutes? They had those too, only here it where refugee boats and you had no control over which boat you where steering so they where going in all the wrong directions.

They sold these balloons for 5 pounds, was fun to see loads of people walking with a sign saying they’re an imbecile.

We were only in England for some hours, we drove there on Saturday and went back on Sunday and spent around 17 hours of those 2 days in the car, but I had a great time! We noticed that the people in the UK are extremely friendly and helpful, and they love drinks, always a good thing.
